This evening was a different story. I took another leap out of my comfort zone, and made an appearance at EView Church where I was once a regular attendee. They were hosting a worship night, to which they had invited other local churches to. So I wasn't there alone, I was surrounded by my friends from Albright....How dear and true they are to me. Unfortunately, they had no desire to stay afterwards and mingle. But holding membership there, and not being able to let go,etc.. I felt the need to stay. And it was a good decision. It wasn't necessarily the easiest thing to do, but I think it was the right thing to do. I found myself catching up with some people I haven't seen in years...And it's getting easier (the whole re-engaging myself). Though I feel some resistance and unwanted-ness from some. The most painful part is the coldness I feel from the senior pastoral couple....but even with that, God keeps telling me to have patience and grace.
Having said that, there were highlights to my evening! I got into a good conversation with an old friend, who is now on staff at the church. It was like a lightening bolt went off. FINALLY after nearly 2 years of isolation,etc.. someone listened to me and showed me some understanding, in regards to church politics,etc.. I feel bad that he had to listen to all of it, but at the same time he didn't seem to mind. In fact, he wanted to help! Perhaps there still is hope in EView!?! When all is said and done, this leaves my evening on a good note...feeling good right now.
And well I'm at it, I have a bit of a confession to make. Don't worry it's nothing too personal. For those of you who know me, I have forever sworn off country music, even after living in Saskatchewan for 2 yrs. But the breaking news is, I have grown rather fond of country music over the past couple of weeks. It has actually become one of my more listened to stations on my way to and from work,etc... Frightening, I know...
